Galvanized 25-Gauge Steel Drywall Stud 1-5/8 inch x 9 feet
Brand
BlueLinx
Product description
Drywall or interior non-load-bearing framing metal studs are C-shaped channels, roll-formed from corrosion-resistant galvanized steel. Gypsum wallboard, veneer plaster, or traditional lath and plaster is applied to the metal framing to complete the non-load-bearing, nonstructural wall assembly. Most common uses of non-load-bearing metal framing include partition walls, ceilings, and column fireproofing in low-rise, mid-rise, high-rise, educational, institutional, and multi-use commercial structures.

Features
- Strong, lightweight studs and tracks cut and handle easier than conventional flat steel studs and tracks
- High strength steel combined with low-profile flange stiffening grooves and double offset web planking increases strength and provides greater limiting heights
- Flange grooves provide sight line for drywall alignment and aid in positioning screws at drywall joint to maintain the 3/8" edge requirement
- Steel studs weigh less than wood. They are lighter by nature, making them easier to store in bulk and less difficult to maintain once they're installed
- Steel studs are not subject to termites or fire
- Maintenance costs over a long period of time can be lower with steel framing because potential rot, insect damage and other wood-related issues are non-existent. Moisture infiltration in an aging wood-framed structure may need to be replaced over time as
- The R-Value, or insulating capacity, of steel is lower than that of wood.
